Cute little family-run establishment. Feels a bit like a time capsule to a few decades ago. Affordable pricing for these times. Good food. Friendly service.
Stopped in with my elderly mother for a quick bite to eat (lunch). The nice part is the price point is extremely affordable. The lunch portion size of meals (can’t speak for sandwiches) was the perfect size. It’s definitely a smaller establishment so if you are in a rush, I would suggest going elsewhere. I ordered mom a meatloaf and mashed potatoes(lunch size). Truly this was the perfect size for her, since she usually will not eat too much. To start, I ordered a small tossed salad. Just your every day run of the mill iceberg lettuce, cucumber slices, carrots and tomato. Two pieces of delicious rye bread with butter also appeared when the salad arrived. For my meal I order the lunch portion schnitzel with German potato salad. Since I had a hard time making up my mind which side I wanted, I also ordered a red cabbage side. The red cabbage was absolutely delicious. It had a nice sweet taste. I wanted the German potato salad to have a little bit more vinegar. Overall, for the price of 7.50 for the schnitzel and $1.50 for the extra side I would say it was a great lunch. I would recommend the red cabbage if I were to order this again. As for the service, There was only one waitress working the dining room . While we were sitting there, a few extra tables came in. So there would be times when she was off taking other people’s orders or bringing out meals. In no way is this a complaint, just part of my experience on the day we were there. The restaurant definitely has a special atmosphere reminiscent of a small country restaurant you would go to on a vacation.
